I used Todd Marshall's Helicoprion as a reference to draw this, just sayian.
this is for
's contest, it evolves from Sharpedo at level 55. It's based off the prehistoric Helicoprion, a shark-like cartilaginous fish.
It's lower jaw extends out into an almost saw-blade like row of teeth, though it varies, depending on where they live, some have much smaller lower-jaws. I was getting too lazy to draw them, but inside it's lower jaw it has rows and rows of more teeth, just like a normal shark, when it loses teeth while fighting or catching prey, the teeth go out to replace it.
Like it's pre-evolution, it's skin is very rough like sandpaper, and can rip up flesh when it swims at high speeds to attack. In it's evolution, it has lost much of the speed it had previously, the large lower jaw slowing it down drastically, along with the full shark body.
no existing fossils would quite fit this, so I used a 'saw fossil', which in reality is the lower jaw of the real creature. [link]
Though I might be able to use the skull fossil instead for evolution.
